Michael ‘Coyote’ Peach at the historic Sedona Heritage Museum

The Sedona Heritage Museum presents Michael Peach in a performance of his original show “MORE Deceptions, Lies & Alibis” on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 1:30 p.m.

Peach’s show features his unique blend of original cowboy poetry with a tongue-in-cheek look at Arizona and local history, also incorporating jokes, stories, and first person narrative.

“Strange tales have been told by those who rode Arizona’s rugged trails.  And sometimes the facts ain’t exactly exact, when you scrutinize the details,” said Peach.

And for the stories based on history, the facts are one of the things award-winning actor, playwright and historian Michael Peach is especially good at bringing to life in this show, highlighting his original cowboy-style poetry.  But Mike isn’t afraid to also spin some tall tales, too.

No two shows will be alike this year as he introduces new material, yet heaps up a helping of long-time favorites.  Informative and entertaining, Mike’s shows have long been a favorite of university, state and national parks, and historically-oriented audiences.

The show is about an hour long.  Tickets are $6, with children under 12 free.  Museum admission is separate.

The Sedona Heritage Museum is located at 735 Jordan Rd in Jordan Park in Uptown.  It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The Museum’s exhibits include stories of area pioneers, movies made in Sedona, cowboy life, vintage vehicles and antique orchard and fruit processing equipment demonstrations.

The red rock home and fruit packing shed along with the tractor shed are listed on the National Historic Register.  The Museum Gift Shop specializes in items made by local artists and craftspeople, and movies made in Sedona.

For more information about this presentation or the Museum, call 928-282-7038.

The Bottom Line Band is all about providing a great evening of dancing, fun and entertainment.

“Live music is performance art,” says drummer Dan Turner. “The audience and the band are all in this together. Every evening is unique.”

Mike “King Daddy” Morris brings his trademark vocal growl, harmonica and guitar to the group, along with 40 years of professional experience and a satchel full of original blues tunes. He has opened concerts for many big names, including Doc Watson, Leon Russell, Robert Cray and Albert King. Mike has also had the pleasure of playing with John Lee Hooker, Omar and the Howlers, Big Bill Morganfield and Delbert McClinton. He recently completed a five year European tour. After one of his shows in Memphis, blues legend Albert King said “King Daddy, you write the best blues in Memphis…except for me.”

Bass player and vocalist Steve Dennis lays down some of the deepest grooves in Northern Arizona. Steve and Mike played together in the 70s with their band Fly By Night, where Steve was the most sought-after stand up bass player in Arizona. He was the premier bass player with Hans Olson and the Rhythm Masters, the Normal Brothers and Joshua Stone. He also toured the Orient with Arizona’s finest musicians. Now the circle is complete and he is back with King Daddy and The Bottom Line Band.

Lead guitarist Scott Holverson hails from north of Chicago and has been performing frequently throughout the Verde Valley since moving to Sedona in August 2011. Scott honed his performing skills playing lead guitar with several Chicago area bands over the past 16 years. Caution — his enthusiasm has been called contagious!

Drummer Dan Turner drives the Bottom Line groove bus. His musical versatility spans 40 years of hard rock, blues, funk, country, R&B and jazz. He is a founding member of Southern California’s Fabulous Sizzle Kings, The Delta 88s and Sunhouse. His bands have opened for Koko Taylor, Pancho Sanchez, Taj Mahal, The Blasters and Robben Ford.
